Fire Destroys Central Falls Home
Central Falls fire officials said the home was a total loss, and the blaze displaced six residents.
CENTRAL FALLS, RI — A fire destroyed a Central Falls home Monday afternoon, displacing six residents, fire officials said.
Fire officials said they were called to the Barber Avenue Home around 4:30 p.m., and smoke could be seen billowing from the building. When crews arrived, flames were shooting out the windows.
All residents got out of the house safely, but fire officials said two firefighters were taken to a local hospital for heat exhaustion.

Fire officials deemed the home a total loss. The American Red Cross is helping six displaced residents — four adults and two children.
The cause of the fire was electrical, WPRI 12 reported. State Fire Marshal Timothy McLaughlin told the television station, lithium batteries plugged into a device on the first floor caused the fire.
