MA Man Brought Roosters To Rhode Island For Cockfighting: Feds
The Massachusetts man pleaded guilty in federal court.
PROVIDENCE, RI — A Massachusetts man brought Roosters to Rhode Island for cockfighting, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Luis Castillo, 35, pleaded guilty to violating the Animal Welfare Act in connection with his involvement in a 2022 "cockfighting derby," the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a media release.
"Castillo admitted traveling from Massachusetts to Rhode Island and bringing roosters to cockfight for sport, wagering and entertainment," the release said.

Castillo's sentencing was scheduled for April 21.
