RI Fugitive Couple Arrested In Connecticut
Authorities said the fugitives were found with two children, forced to live in unsanitary conditions.
PROVIDENCE, RI — Two of Rhode Island's most wanted fugitives were arrested in Connecticut Monday morning, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
Jesueily Sanchez, 25, and Tyshaun Peete were found at an apartment in Waterbury, Connecticut with two children. Sanchez was wanted on a charge of cruelty to or neglect of a child, following an incident last fall. Peete was wanted after failing to appear in court on a charge of carrying a pistol without a license and resisting arrest, authorities said.
Authorities said Rhode Island State Police, the U.S. Marshals Service and Waterbury police found Sanchez and Peete were living in the apartment with two children. The children were living in unsanitary conditions, police said.

Officials took the children into the custody of the Connecticut Department of Children and Families. Authorities said one of the children was previously deemed missing and endangered by Rhode Island state officials.
"The toddlers recovered today did not have a voice to advocate for themselves," said Chief Robert Charette, of the U.S. Marshals' Rhode Island Division. "They were living in unimaginable conditions of squalor and abuse. I commend the work of my Deputy U.S. Marshals here in Rhode Island, the Rhode Island State Police, Deputy U.S. Marshals in Connecticut, and the Waterbury Police Department in recovering these toddlers this morning. The relentlessness displayed by these investigators is why these toddlers are now safe."
