Shake Shop Raises Money For Teens Injured In Exeter Crash

Fuel Your Fire Nutrition raised more than $1,700 for West Warwick/Exeter-West Greenwich hockey players Matthew Dennison and Kevin MacDonald.

WEST WARWICK, RI — A West Warwick nutrition shop on Saturday raised more than $1,700 to benefit two teens who were seriously injured in an Exeter crash last month.

Sarah Daigneult, the owner of Fuel Your Fire Nutrition said half of Saturday's sales helped West Warwick/Exeter-West Greenwich hockey captains Matthew Dennison and Kevin MacDonald.

"I saw the surrounding community basically pulling together, and that's what made me think of doing a fundraiser," Daigneult said. "I thought what could I do, and I basically ran with it.

Daigneult said she was grateful for the turnout and saw people showing up at the shop she'd never seen before. She also thanked the Texas Roadhouse, Applebee's, Sweatshop Fitness and community members for donating raffle prizes.

The head-on collision happened on Feb. 12 on Ten Rod Road in Exeter. Police said the driver of the other vehicle, Alexander Krajewski, 30, of North Kingstown, was arrested at the scene.

Krajewski was charged with two counts of driving to endanger, injury resulting and two counts of driving under the influence, serious injury resulting.
