Community Theater Adds Circus Workshops

New This Winter Session!  Barrington Community Theater is proud to offer a weekly Circus Skills Workshop every Monday evening from 5:00-7:00 at the Middle School.  

Students can come and learn a variety of skills including Juggling, Hula Hoop Dancing, Poi Spinning, Stilt Walking, Unicycling, Yo-Yo tricks, and many more!  

These skills are an amazing way to improve hand-eye coordination and increase self-esteem. Hula hoop dancing is fun aerobic exercise, and juggling has been proven to increase brain mass.  So spread the word!  Beginners are welcome! Come play, learn, and grow with us.  Students must pre-register at the Town Manager's office at the Barrington Town Hall. The circus workshops are free to actors already signed up for the theater program. The price for the 10 week circus program is $150 for non-actors. 

The Barrington Community Theater will begin its Winter Session on January 7th. BCT is the town-of-Barrington theater program which is held at the Barrington Middle School on Monday and Wednesday evenings.  Here young actors are fully immersed in both show rehearsals and theater workshops as they work together to put on a festival of one-act plays.

BCT is a program driven to help our young actors grow through plenty of stage time and acting workshops based off of college level theater courses. Our actors perform in 2 shows each session, with one leading and one supporting part.  We feel it is important that each actor has the opportunity to have both a leading and supporting role as both will be important in an actor's life.  Our staff carefully tailor the theater classes to work with each actor's abilities and to allow our actors to grow at their own pace in a supportive and accepting environment.  

Actors must pre-register at the Town Manager's office.  The price of the theater program (workshops included) is $300.
