Summer Art Camp all ART no crafts!

Kids get to try their hand at the potters wheel, create with wet clay, decorate with glaze on fired pottery, draw, paint, and more!  Art by You at Weirdgirl Creations is the perfect program! Monday-Thursday 10AM-1PM. Kids spend the morning being creative, and you have plenty of time to enjoy the beach, pool, or other outdoor activities in the afternoon!  Your child will produce fun and functional art ready to use  and worthy of display. All dinnerware is food and dishwasher safe.  All materials are lead free and non toxic, will not stain skin, clothing or furniture.  This is our 15th year running this program in RI.  Our Multi age programs are perfect for ages 4-12. Our summer program is where the tile murals are created for FAB (For Anything But...alcohol, drugs or tobacco)  The murals are created by students painting their self portrait on a 6" tile and adding positive quotes such as "Be a role model"  "Do good things" " lead by example" "Someone looks up to you"  "someone wants to be just like you".  The tiles are mounted on self framing plywood in groups of 12 and hung in businesses in RI, MA and Vermont.  Each year the new murals debut in Starbucks on County Road in Barrington RI for the month of September.  After that they are moved to a permanent display location.  Check them out at Shaws Barrington RI, Piezoni's Barrington and Warren RI locations, Gymboree Seekonk MA, Bayside YMCA (After construction they will be back up) Brueggers Bagels Vermont locations.

This year we will be participating in the "Empty Bowls" project.  Summer art students will paint pre formed ceramic bowls with their original designs signed by them! These bowls will be auctioned off at an event which will raise money for our local food pantry.  We absolutely love to have our students give back to the community.  With the proceeds we will purchase gift cards from Shaws to donate to the food pantry for families in need.
