'Chicago' Closes Out Library Film Series

The adaptation of the Broadway musical brings the fall film lecture series, 'Gotta' Sing! Gotta' Dance!' to a close at 1 pm in the Barrington library auditorium.

Flappers and gangsters come to the Barrington library this afternoon, Oct. 31.

"Chicago" plays at 1 pm in the auditorium as the final movie in the fall film lecture series, "Gotta Sing! Gotta Dance!: The Evolution of Movie Musicals."

Doug Swiszcz, a film buff and library technology director, describes the film as "director Rob Marshall's freshly cinematic adaptation of Kander and Ebb's Broadway show about society's infatuation with notoriety in the Windy City during the Roaring '20s.

The move is in color. It runs for 113 minutes, and is rated PG-13 with some,  sexual content and dialogue, violence, and thematic elements.

There is no charge.
