Eagles Move into Volleyball Quarterfinals

Barrington girls sweep Central Falls, 3-0, in a Division ll preliminary matchup; next playoff game is Monday at Exeter/West Greenwich.

Barrington's girls' volleyball team swept Central Falls, 3-0, Thursday night at home to win a Rhode Island Interscholastic League DivisionII preliminary game. The win moves the Eagles into the quarterfinal round on Monday.

The Eagles piled up 20 aces from the service line to rush past Central Falls. Junior outside hitter Nadia Rudman led the way with 9 aces and 14 kills. Junior middle hitter Holly Gildea added 6 kills and 3 aces. Junior outside hitter Gabby Arig had 6 kills and 3 aces.

Game one started off like it was going to be a blowout by Barrington with Rudman slamming a bunch of aces. But Central Falls wouldn't go away and made a late run behind their defense. They still came up short, though.
