Tyler Point Grille Adds Patio Dining

Owner Brian Timme builds bluestone patio that offers outside dining daily.

Tyler Point Grille is now offering outside dining on a brand new bluestone patio.

“I’m looking forward to this weekend,” said Brian Thimme, the owner and head chef, on Friday afternoon. “We’ve had a couple of people with drinks sit in the Adirondack chairs. But it’s been a little cool.”

The forecast is for temperatures in the 70s this weekend. Thimme could well see his first customers use the new patio.

“We now have 40 seats outside with water views across the boatyard,” he said. “We are offering full-service dining outside, seven nights a week.”

Thimme said he has been thinking about adding the patio since he bought the restaurant about 18 months ago. It fits between the front of the restaurant and the parking spaces off of Barton Avenue.

“There was always plenty of room,” Thimme said. “We went through the zoning and planning boards over the winter.”

The well-known restaurant is located near the end of Barton Avenue east of the Barrington Yacht Club and Stanley’s Boatyard.
