Go Au Pair in the Providence area is proud to invite you to North Scituate for some good ’ol fashioned fall fun. Personally, I have been going to this orchard for over 30 years! I have many sweet memories of stopping here with my Grandma Law on her paper route (which she pronounced like paper-out). Her favorite has always been the cider. She would buy one for the refrigerator, since she and my grandpa had eleven children and something like 17 or 18 grandchildren. The second gallon of apple cider went straight in the entryway, where she would let it “harden” to a delicious adult-only treat! Great idea, Gram! I think I will try it next month!

The Rhode Island cluster of Au Pairs and Host Families would like you to join us and support this great local business! We will be meeting at the orchard around 10:30am on the morning of September 13th for a tour of the orchard and some cider-tasting. I plan to take advantage of their early apple crop with their pick-your-own apples and our adventure would not be complete without a visit to the small bakery with homemade treats from the orchard. Perhaps some will be up for a bumpy tractor ride.

Cultural opportunities are everywhere you look! Be sure to share your family’s seasonal activities with your au pair and ask him or her to share the seasonal traditions of their home country with you! For more information about au pair childcare, contact me, Joan Lowell, your Rhode Island area Go Au Pair representative at jlowell@goaupair.com or 401.309.1925.
