Man Faces Car Theft, B&E Charges
Former Barrington resident reportedly broke into ex-wife's home on Massasoit Avenue to get keys to steal car.

A Providence man was charged by police with breaking and entering and stealing a car from his former home in Barrington on Friday, May 6.
He also faces charges of driving without a license and was being sought on Superior Court and District Court bench warrants.
Douglas P. Cataldo, 46, re-entered the home of his ex-wife on Massasoit Avenue and took the keys for a car that he swiped and then abandoned in East Providence, police said.

He was transported to the ACI after being arraigned by a justice of the peace in the police station.
Woman faces DUI charge
A New Bedford woman, 32, was charged by Barrington police with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs on Friday, May 6.Β

Leslie Ann Cintron, 32, of 8 Plainville Road, was stopped on County Road near the Chiazza restaurant at about 1:24 am. She failed a field sobriety test, police said, and refused the Breathalyzer test.
The woman was arraigned in District Court later Friday morning and released.Β
Teen faces MJ charge
A 16-year-old Barrington High School student was charged with possession of marijuana on Friday, May 6.Β
Police said school administrators reported to police at around 12:43 pm that a student was found in possession of marijuana and a smoking bowl after they smelled the odor in the air outside the school.Β
The teen was released into the custody of his mother.
Drunk taken to detox unit
A Barrington man, 29, was transported to the Rhode Island Hospital detox unit on Friday evening, May 6, after he was found walking into traffic on County Road.Β
No charges were filed against him because there are no ordinances in Barrington for public drunkenness, police said.
Woman followed from work
A woman who works at Atria Bay Spring Village on Bay Spring Avenue reported to police on Saturday, May 7, that a suspicious vehicle tailed her on Narragansett Avenue after she left work at 2:43 am.Β
The vehicle was spotted first in the parking area of the assisted living complex, police said. The vehicle followed the woman out of the lot when she took a break, police said.Β
The woman told police that she was afraid to drive home so she returned to Atria, where a patrolman met her.Β She did not get a license plate number.
Man faces driving charges
A Cranston man, 30, was charged by Barrington police with driving without a license and with no evidence of insurance coverage on Monday, May 9.Β
Michael H. Parsons of 11 Marden St., was stopped for speeding on County Road near Belton Drive at 6:18 am.Β
Woman faces warrant, driving charges
A North Providence woman, 26, was charged by police with driving without a license on Monday, May 9, after being stopped for speeding on County Road near the RIPTA park-and-ride lot at the βWhite Church.β
Tina M. Cooper, of 20 June St., was traveling 56 mph in the 35-mph zone, police said. She also was wanted on a bench warrant from District Court, where she was transported by police.
iPhone reported stolenΒ
Police received a report on Monday afternoon, May 9, that an iPhone was stolen from a gym locker at Barrington High School.
The cell phone was valued at $500, police said.
Domestic assault charges lodged
A Barrington man, 52, was charged by police on Monday, May 9, with domestic simply assault and battery.
Brian M. Thetonia, of 16 Connecticut Ave., was charged after he got into an altercation with his girlfriend at the home they own in common. He was arraigned by a justice of the peace at the police station and released.
