• Barrington boys finish second in Vermont cross country invitational (eastbayri.com) — Barrington High School's boys cross country team just delivered one of its best performances ever, finishing second at a massive Woods Trail Run meet in Vermont with three runners in the top 10. Back home, the Eagles stayed undefeated in dual meets, dominating Portsmouth and Pawtucket to clinch the division title and pack the top finishing spots. 
• Osprey nesting failures raise concerns over food supply (eastbayri.com) — A longtime Barrington resident who has monitored local ospreys for decades is sounding the alarm after seeing many nests fail this summer, including around upper Narragansett Bay. His observations align with statewide data showing sharply lower nesting success, prompting Audubon researchers to expand monitoring, install more nest cameras, and scrutinize possible food shortages affecting these iconic coastal birds.
