📰 News we're reading
• Barrington Town Council: No second SRO in schools, at least not yet (eastbayri.com) — Barrington's Town Council has unanimously rejected, for now, adding a second school resource officer to local schools, saying they want a clearer shared plan with the School Committee and police. Supporters and opponents, including students and advocacy groups, debated safety, student comfort, and mental health resources before councilors called for more collaboration rather than ending the idea outright.

• Mystery of missing kayaks in Barrington is solved (eastbayri.com) — Kayak owners in Barrington who left boats along the Teed Avenue right-of-way to Hundred Acre Cove may find them now stored at the town's DPW on Upland Way. After complaints, the harbormaster tagged and removed mostly abandoned kayaks to keep the state-owned access path clear, and residents can contact Barrington Police or the harbormaster to reclaim theirs.

• Barrington High School boys soccer: 'We should be in the mix' (eastbayri.com) — Barrington High School's boys soccer coach says this year's Eagles, coming off a state title, still have the talent to contend despite graduating 11 players and rebuilding their midfield. With standout scorer Ollie Cope leading a strong attack and solid goalkeeping emerging, Barrington has already notched wins over East Greenwich and Portsmouth while narrowly dropping a match to South Kingstown.
