Search Underway for Missing Boater in Narragansett Bay

A major search is underway in Narragansett Bay.

Dive teams are in the waters off Barrington Town Beach in Haines Park searching for a missing person this Thursday night.

UPDATE: Search Continues for Missing Triathlete

According to reports, crews from across Narragansett Bay are using side scanning sonar and divers in an attempt to find the missing person.

Units from the Narragansett Bay Marine Task Force, including Barrington, Warwick and Providence and the U.S. Coast Guard were aiding in the search.

Officials said that the report of the missing person came in at around 5:30 p.m.

The report was for an overdue boater.

Crews were searching around a boat anchored in the water as a Coast Guard helicopter circled above.
