Threats Against Cops Cost Ciccone
State Sen. Frank Ciccone III steps down as a committee chairman and as a member of the finance committee after threatening Barrington police officers.

Verbal threats made against two Barrington police officers have cost a Rhode Island state senator his leadership posts, according to the Providence Journal.
Sen. Frank Ciccone III resigned as the chairman of the Senate Committee on Government Oversight and quit his seat on the Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday evening. He interfered in the arrest of Dominick Ruggerio, the Senate majority leader, for drunk driving last week in Barrington.
Ciccone was following Ruggerio in his vehicle when it was pulled over by Barrington patrolman Walter Larson early in the morning on March 28 on Richmond Avenue. Patrolman Michael Gregorzek provided backup.

Ciccone, who was taken to the police station along with Ruggerio because he seemed too inebriated to drive, said he would mess with both patrolmen’s pensions as retaliation. See the complete story here.
