The Barrington Town Council meets this month on Tuesday, April 9; check out its agenda here.

The Barrington Town Council meets for its regular monthly meeting this week on an irregular day, Tuesday, April 9. The council typically meets on the first Monday of each month.
The meeting starts at the regular time, 7 pm, in the same place, the Council Chamber in Town Hall.
Highlights of the agenda appear to be the annual application for Community Development Block Grants -- with a recommendation from the Senior Services Advisory Board on the spending of those federal funds.

The Committee for Renewable Energy Barrington (CREB) is back on the agenda for the second straight month with two requests:
- one to change its name
- a second one to talk about a workshop with other boards and commissions about using closed landfills for solar photovoltaic fields.
The Parks and Recreation Commission is making recommendations to establish two memorials at town parks: a Dellefratte family memorial at Chianese Field and a memorial at Latham Park. It also is asking the Town Council to approve another one-year agreement to lease the playing fields at Haines Memorial Park.

The Barrington Preservation Society will make a presentation on the historical significance of the Nockum Hill area of town and its opposition to the proposed condominium development – Residences at the Preserve.
That development has been rejected by the Planning Board but is being appealed to the State Housing Appeals Board. The Town Council has scheduled an executive session on the lawsuit filed by North End Holdings, which is the developer of the proposed condo complex.
