Town Manager Honored for Public Service

Barrington’s town manager was honored on Monday, Nov. 18, with a public service award from the Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council. 

Peter DeAngelis Jr. received the Robert M. Goodrich Distinguished Public Service Award, named after RIPEC’s first executive director. It honors an outstanding local employee.

DeAngelis received the 38th Goodrich Award at RIPEC’s 70th annual meeting at the RI Convention Center. RIPEC is a business-supported public policy organization.

Award winners must have at least five years of non-elective, full-time public service in a RI city or town. A selection committee reviews nominations based on criteria and performance, including:

• Sustained superior performance in the service of the Rhode Island taxpayer;
• Fiscal responsibility and business acumen;
• Record of integrity and devotion to public service;
• Personal initiative and resourcefulness.
• Diligence and productivity.
