What's Open on Thanksgiving?

Need to fill a prescription today? Can’t go it without your favorite cup of Joe? Forgot to fill the tank of the motorized sleigh for the trip to grandma’s house for turkey dinner?

Don’t despair! There are some places open for business today in Barrington despite it being Thanksgiving Day.

Both Barrington drug stores are open all day: the CVS/pharmacy in the shopping plaza and Rite Aid at 236 County Road. To be precise, CVS is open from 7 am to 10 pm. Rite Aid is open from 8 am to 9 pm.

Of course, drug stores being far more than pharmacies, you can shop for just about anything else you might need today – except for a turkey and all the fixings.

You want a coffee?

Starbucks is open from 6 am to 3 pm and Dunkin’ Donuts is open from 5 am to 2 pm. You don’t have to go without your favorite coffee or tea for one day after all.

And, if you want to supplement your pumpkin and apple pies with pastries, you know what Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts have to offer.

Need gasoline for your vehicle? Barrington Shell at 242 County Road is open from 5:30 am to 12:30 pm.  Fill on up. It’s a convenience store as well.

Want to get a bit of exercise or take a swim to start your day? The Bayside YMCA is open from 6 am to 10 am.

Sorry, you’ll have to work off Thanksgiving dinner in some other way.
