Join us for the Mount Hope Farmers Market Summer Kickoff Festivities!

Mount Hope Farmers Market Summer Kickoff Festivities: Worm Ladies, Kids Music, Face Painting, Baby Goat-Naming, New Market Vendors & More!

This Saturday, May 25th, we launch our second outdoor summer market season! We're excited to stretch our legs out in the field, and we've got lots of fun stuff planned for Saturday:

  • "The Worm Ladies!" Come learn all about worm composting, see what it looks like, and even buy your very own worm bin if you'd like to give home vermiculture (worm farming) a try. They'll be hanging out all day, but at 10:00 they will be doing a worm-compost-tea brewing demo!
  • Family & children's musician Jennifer Havens Romanat of East Side Music Together will be playing music at the market to help us celebrate--the perfect excuse to come dance on the grass!  Jen will even have some instruments for you to join in on, and feel free to bring your own drums, whistles, tambourines or tubas!
  • Facepainting for kids (and grownups?!) Come get your favorite veggie painted on your cheek!
  • Breakfast & Lunch available from Panino Express Food Truck and Hot & Cold Coffee from The Coffee Guy!
  • Announcement of the names selected for the Mount Hope Farm Baby Goats! (Thanks everyone for your creative and excellent submissions!)

In the summer months months the market takes place in the Mount Hope Farm's South Pasture, right along Metacom Ave. The market offers Vegetables, Flowers, Herbs, Fruits, Meats, Eggs, Cheese, Fish, Flowers, Coffee, Bread, Pastries, Prepared Foods, Jams & Jellies, Salsas/Sauces/Relishes, Granola, Soaps, Crafts, Live music, Demonstrations and more! Bring the whole family, shop for local food, meet your friends & neighbors, visit the sheep, goats & chickens, eat lunch, listen to live music, grab a trail map, and walk the beautiful grounds of the farm!
