The restaurant, known for its classic French dishes, community-minded gestures, and holiday service, has closed while potential buyers consider new concepts for the historic downtown space.

Porchfest returns to downtown Bristol on Sept. 20 (eastbayri.com) — High Street in Bristol will close on Sunday, Sept. 20, for the free, family-friendly PorchFest music festival featuring 26 bands on 16 porches from Walley to Byfield streets. Volleyball Cruises Past Roger Williams In Straight Sets (gotuftsjumbos.com) — Tufts University's women's volleyball team swept Roger Williams University in straight sets Tuesday night in Bristol, improving to 2–2 while holding the Hawks to just 27 kills. The match at RWU's home court showcased strong Tufts hitting and defense, but also highlighted solid performances from Hawks standouts before Tufts turns to its home invitational later this week.
   

4. Bristol veteran wounded three times to receive major WWII award (providencejournal.com) — Bristol's 105-year-old Arthur Medeiros, a three-time Purple Heart recipient and Battle of the Bulge veteran, will receive the 2026 Senator Bob Dole World War II Foundation Leadership Award on Sept. 19 in South Kingstown. Local residents are invited to attend the public ceremony honoring his service, which will also be featured in a future World War II Foundation film.
   

5. Policy Lab Archive (uri.edu) — Among many Rhode Island policy projects, this archive highlights a detailed analysis done for Bristol's Department of Public Works on options to move local recycling from manual pickup to automated curbside collection. While the report itself is offsite, it could shape future decisions about how your trash and recycling are handled, alongside broader studies on housing, education, and healthcare statewide.
