Bristol Art Museum to Offer Presentation on Early New England Seascape

Bristol, RHODE ISLAND – The Bristol Art Museum announces an Art for Your Mind presentation, featuring the topic of Early New England Seascapes, on Tuesday, October 11 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Art for Your Mind is an engaging, educational, art observation experience designed to broaden the minds of its participants presented by local art historian Jill Sanford.

Those interested in attending may register by sending an email to info@bristolartmuseum.org with their name and proof of vaccination. There is a $5 fee that may be paid at the door.
“Art For Your Mind presentations are a combination of art history and art appreciation, so we'll be shifting back and forth in our discussion between the time, place and circumstances around each painting, and the unique way each artist has used the language of art to create a powerful image,” shares Sanford. “There have been countless interesting seascapes created throughout time and from around the world. Early New England Seascapes have been selected for this talk simply to narrow our focus to our own unique region.”
Participants will gain a renewed sense of how fun and informative art observation can be. The Art For Your Mind programs are designed for individuals of all backgrounds, including those with no particular interest in art. The topic, Early New England Seascapes, explores and interprets a selection of beautiful and interesting images by several prominent American artists, Fitz Henry Lane, Winslow Homer, and Edward Hopper, to name a few.
