The St. Barnabas 51st Festival kicks off on Friday June 19th at 5pm.Come early and enjoy some delicious food, Chourico and Peppers, lobster roll, Stuffies, hamburgers, something for everyone. Check out the offerings of the Silent Auction and submit your bids early. The band “Country Wild Heart” takes the stage from 6 – 10pm, with great country music and line dancing lessons, so everyone can get in on the fun. For those looking for a thrill, try one of the exciting Carnival rides or try your luck at the popular “Message in a Bottle”, includes a bottle of wine and a gift certificate to a local restaurant for at least $25, maybe more!
The fun starts on Saturday at 12pm and is packed with fun and excitement. The Food Booth will be open with all your festival favorites, and the Carnival Rides will be in full swing for the kids and brave adults.“Group Therapy Band RI” will be under the tent delivering “Current, Classic & Original Acoustic Favorites". Back by popular demand, Antique Appraisal from 3 – 4:30pm, each person can have two items appraised for just $5.00.Limit two items per person. A fun event for the kids is “Meet the Reptiles” from 3:00 – 4:45pm, kids and adults can interact with snakes and lizards, if they dare. For the first time ever, the St. Barnabas Festival will be hosting a Cornhole tournament beginning at Noon. Bring your team and your best game for friendly competition! Bingo starts at 6:30 with all cash prizes. Your favorite festival foods and soft drinks will be delivered to your Bingo table, so you won’t miss a thing. The “Down City Band” rounds out Saturday, rocking the tent from 6 – 10pm
Sunday starts a little slower and earlier, freshly made St. Barnabas Malassadas and coffee will be served from 8 – 11am.The St. Barnabas procession starts at 9:30 and culminates with Mass at 1030 in the church. At 11:30, a traditional Portuguese Soup Luncheon will be served in the Church Hall; this is free to everyone. The big event on Sunday afternoon is the Live Auction, this is hugely popular and includes some great items for bid, like Red Sox tickets, Tall Tail Fishing Charters and a Cape Cod Weekend. Registration starts at 12:15, get a paddle and get bidding. The food booth is open throughout to keep you fueled up for fun. The St. Barnabas 51st festival ends at 5pm on Sunday.
