"Jazz Etc!" with Pianist Lois Vaughan at Linden Place Museum

Rhode Island jazz pianist Lois Vaughan will perform a solo jazz piano concert. Playing a range of classic jazz and Latin tunes on the mansion's Steinway grand piano, Lois will cover the music of Duke Ellington, Dave Brubeck, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Miles Davis, George Gershwin, Scott Joplin, John Coltrane, and Cole Porter. She will also share some of her improvisational meditation music that is the basis of her new CD.

Pianist Lois Vaughan has been performing professionally full time in the Southern New England area for over 25 years, as a soloist and with her jazz, classical, and dance ensembles.  She is the music director at the Westport Point Massachusetts Methodist Church and teaches jazz piano at St. Georges School in Middletown RI.  A CD of her original music entitled ‘Piano Meditations’ will be released in the spring of 2012.
