Something to do on this snowy/rainy Sat, Feb 5th...

Looking for something to do inside, this Sat, Feb 5th

Check out Mt Hope’s Robot #652-‘Underdogs’, or #3351- ‘Rookie Robotics’… Local high school students have been diligently designing, building, & programming robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams .  You can see them compete TODAY at New England Tech in the ‘Get Over It’ Competition!  In addition to applying ‘hands on’ real world math and science concepts, developing problem solving, organizational, and team building skills, and having FUN, these students could earn scholarships AND a place in the World Championship!

For months Mt Hope High students have been creating robots that can achieve certain tasks and work within certain boundaries.  Last weekend many students, their families, & teachers from Mt Hope, attended Pace University for the Hudson Valley NY First Tech Challenge (FTC) Championship Tournament.  Despite being the first competition for most Mt Hope students in attendance, their team robots ranked #9 & #11 amongst over 30 teams!  Thrilling to observe these students strategize, and ‘fix on the spot’, as they are confronted with numerous trials.  Heartwarming to witness their eagerness & readiness to help other competing teams, ‘think outside the box’, and rally spirit!
