The Rosary & Altar Society of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church is hosting a Christmas event, The Sweet Spirit of Christmas, this weekend in the Parish Hall. Hours are Saturday, Dec. 18, from 4 to 7 pm and Sunday, Dec. 19 from 8 am to noon. Homemade Christmas cookies are for sale along with gift baskets and poinsettias; hot beverages and cookie samples will be available. Also, tickets will be sold for the $1,000 Christmas raffle; the winner will be drawn at noon Sunday.
