Get Out! Enjoy a Boat Show in Bristol, Wine in Warren and Local Chowder in Newport
This weekend offers outdoor festivals galore, not to mention great things to eat and drink.

It’s June and the summer activities are in full swing. Here are a few get-out-there and have fun things we’ve rounded up for you this weekend. Be sure to check our events calendar for more fun.
Bristol Boat Show & Art Expo
When/Where: Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Independence Park - Thames Street, Bristol
Why Go: It’s the best of Bristol! – Boats and Art. The Bristol Boat Show returns for its 10th year and has been expanded this year to include an Art Show. Proceeds benefit charitable causes. Stroll along the beautiful Bristol waterfront, meeting the artists and marine industry representatives while helping to raise funds for charity. A broad range of maritime businesses and artistic activities are represented.
Pricing: Free admission
Art in the Close
When/Where: Saturday, June 4, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 399 Hope St., Bristol
Why Go: While you’re downtown at the Boat Show and Art Expo, stroll by St. Michael’s Church for Art in the Close. Art will be displayed along the Fence in the Church Yard. Proceeds from this event go to The Young Choristers, who hope to attend an educational choral camp.

International Food and Wine Tasting
When/Where: Friday, June 3, 7 p.m., Church, 645 Main St, Warren
Why Go: Take a little time Friday night to enjoy food and wines from around the world. Proceeds go to the youth attending the World Youth Pilgrimage in Spain in August.
Pricing: $25 per person; must be 21 or older.
Chowdah Time in Newport
When/Where: Noon to 6 p.m., Saturday, June 4, Newport Yachting Center
Why Go: Cheer on Warren’s Stella Blues Restaurant as chef Brian Aspesi’s clam chowder competes at the Knorr’s Great Chowder Cook Off in Newport. Enjoy all-you-can-eat samples of various traditional and exotic chowders from across the country and our local communities, and vote for the best in three categories: Clam, Seafood and Creative. Three stages of live island-vibe entertainment, kids’ activities and plenty of new surprises to commemorate the event's 30th year (like the Clamcake Eating Challenge).
Pricing: Admission is $25/$20 Advance; Children under 12 FREE with an adult

Fort Adams Family Day Festival
When/Where: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 4, Fort Adams State Park, Newport. Rain date June 5
Why Go: There’s lots going on for all ages and admission is free. There will be entertainment, games, touch a truck, tours of Fort Adams and a sailing festival at the site.
Pricing: Free admission, but bring money for food, etc.
