Great Rhody Yarn Crawl Vendor Marketplace at Mount Hope Farm

Sunday, April 10, 2016 - The Great Rhody Yarn Crawl Returns - Because Everyone Needs a Little Fiber!

Mount Hope Farm in Bristol, Rhode Island welcomes one and all to The Great Rhody Yarn Crawl on Sunday, April 10 from 11 am to 4 pm. The free festival is in the Barn of the historic farm at 250 Metacom Avenue. Admission is FREE and all are welcome.

The Great Rhody Yarn Crawl is an annual statewide event that supports the thriving fiber arts community in Rhode Island while also collecting food for Food Banks across the state. Twelve independently owned local yarn stores from Block Island to Woonsocket, Richmond to Tiverton participate in this annual event celebrating the Rhode Island fiber arts community. Each yarn store is provided with a raffle basket filled with upwards of $300 worth of product generously donated by the Crawl’s sponsors. Crawlers have a chance to win any and all of the baskets simply by donating a food items.

The Yarn Crawl kick’s off on Friday April 8th and runs through Sunday April 10th culminating in a Fiber Arts Marketplace being held at the scenic Mt. Hope Farm. But wait-there’s more! Those looking to continue “the crawl” can head over to Block Island, whose merchants will offer the same food collections, specials and raffles on April 16 and 17.

The Vendor Marketplace at Mount Hope Farm on Sunday, April 10, will focus on products crafted in New England, with over fifteen vendors from the New England area offering variety unique items and supplies. Grab a soup or snack from the Acacia Café or a sweet from Confections; top it off with jolting java from The Coffee Guy. Visit with the Farm’s charming donkeys and enjoy the antics of the new baby goats! There’s something for adults and kids (of all ages) and admission is FREE.

The Rhody Yarn Crawl events have collected more than 4500 lbs. of non-perishable food items and this year’s events is shaping up to be the best one yet. Join the Farm and Fiber community in supporting this special collection effort.

“The Farm is proud to partner with the Fiber community for this (and any!) event,” said Executive Director Jennifer Bristol. “Our Board of Trustees places a high priority on building new communities into the fabric of our work; spinners, knitters and artisans make that fabric come alive!”
