Hidden Gem: Blithewold Gardens

Discover a Hidden Gem in Bristol that you may have driven by and never known it existed. Or maybe you have not visited this interesting spot in years. So take a little trip with Patch...we'll show you the way.

Blithewold Mansion is located on Bristol's scenic waterfront, but instead of being drawn to the coast, visitor's eyes are drawn toward the ground and to Blithewold's resplendent flower gardens.

There is a plenty to explore on the 37-acre property whether it's walking across the Great Lawn that overlooks Narragansett Bay, cooling off in the shade of the bamboo forest or even sitting down with a good book beside the tranquil water garden.

There is no doubt a lot to see and take in but one thing guests should be sure not to miss is the Giant Sequoia tree. With its peak swaying in the wind near 100 feet from its roots, it is said to be the largest tree of its kind on the East Coast.
