View Finder: Hope Gallery Has Spring Fever

Hope Gallery in Bristol presents "The Awakening of Spring" with works featured by local photographers, painters and glass sculptors.

Springtime is peaking around the corner and if we close our eyes we can almost smell grass beginning to grow and see the yellow burst of forsythia popping. Hope Gallery in Bristol jump starts the season with a smart, beautiful and soothing interpretation of  "The Awakening of Spring."

Hope Gallery owner Anita Trezvant has gathered 18 extremely talented artists for "The Awakening of Spring", ongoing at the gallery through April 1.

All forms of mixed media are represented, from photography and oil paintings, to figurative glass sculptures, pit fired pottery and jewelery, with many of the artists local to Rhode Island.

Trezvant believes the commercial gallery survives because of the "ecclectic mix of fine art and master artisans, with prices ranging from $65 to $4,000."

The gallery is also offering painting workshops throughout the spring, led by artsit and educater, Ewa Romaszewicz. For more information visit .

is just one of the local galleries gearing up for The Bristol Independant Art Gallery Stroll, an annual Fourth of July Cultural Event benefiting the Fourth of July Commitee. This years event takes place on May 15 from noon to 5:30 p.m. and offers trolley stops, refreshments, raffles and live music. Ticket packages are $10 and include 2 trolley tickets and 10 raffle tickets (children ride the trolley for free).
