Warren Fire Station 5's Clambake Prevails over Rain and Wind
Despite the weather, hundreds turned out for Warren Fire and Rescue Staion 5's clambake.

Torrential downpours and gusty winds rocked the tents, but the spirit of the volunteers and attendees was not deterred.
"It doesn't seem that the weather has affected turnout," Captain Scott Little of Engine No. 5 said.

According to Little, 37 bushels of clams were ordered for the event, which required hours of washing at the fire station before being baked.
The clambake is in its 66th year and serves as a fundraiser to offset the costs of the fire station. In addition to the clams and a tent that served as a bar, there was also a raffle with prizes donated from local businesses.

At the end of the day however, the main attraction was the clams.
"I came for the clams," Craig Wnuk of North Attleboro said. "They're baked rather than boiled, so the flavor stays strong,"Ā
