"The pumpkin weighed in at a whopping 3,156 pounds, which would make it the first recorded pumpkin to weigh more than 3,000 pounds," according to Boston 25.

"The pumpkin, which belongs to Coventry resident Ron Wallace, broke the previous world record by nearly 300 pounds, according to event scale weigher John Russo," a WPRI story said.

"The event took place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Frerichs Farm and included the weigh off, food trucks, live entertainment, and more," according to WGME.
