Obituary: Christine Mulligan

 

MULLIGAN, CHRISTINE A. "CHRIS", (ANTHONY), ED.D. CHES, 64, of Fairview Ave., passed away at home with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, May 1, 2012. She was the wife of Robert M. Mulligan for 35 years. Born in Newport, RI she was a daughter of the late William C. and Edna Louise (Linley) Anthony.

Chris earned her BA in 1970, and her MEd. in 1978, both from Rhode Island College. She then earned her EdD in Health Education from Boston University in 1988. Chris taught biology, general science, and health education in the Coventry School System for 28 years, retiring in 2000. She was a consultant and writer for General Learning Communications and most recently a medical secretary.

She was the mother of John Robert Mulligan and his wife Kayla, of Brooklyn, CT and Erin Marie Mulligan of Tampa, FL; grandmother of Alexandria & Matthew; sister of Jack Anthony and his wife Deborah, of Middletown and the late William H. Anthony and his wife, Cynthia of McLean, VA.

Her Funeral will be Saturday at 9:00 am from the R. A. IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte.117), Coventry, with a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Christ the King Church. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Friday 5 - 8 pm.
