Armed Scituate Home Invasion: Police Identify 3 Suspects

The homeowner was thrown to the ground, and held there with one suspect pointing an AR-15 in his direction.

SCITUATE, RI — Four men, one armed with an AR-15 rifle were arrested after police said the suspects invaded the victims home and assaulted him. No one was seriously injured according to Scituate and Coventry Police, who responded to Thursday's invasion.

At about 6:30 p.m., police arrived at Matteson Road after receiving a call from the 65-year-old homeowner. The man told police one of the suspects held him to the ground at gunpoint.

Police identified the suspects as Edwin Torres, 21, Jordan Shonnell, 20, Justin Ziobrowski 21, and a 16-year-old juvenile. The suspects are expected to be arraigned Friday afternoon.

Ziobrowski drove the other three suspects to the Scituate home, who forced their way in while Ziobrowski parked on the side of the road, police said. A struggle between the suspects and the homeowner ensued. The homeowner was thrown to the ground, and Shonnell, armed with an AR-15 kept the homeowner on the ground.

After some time, police said the suspects ran away as the victim chased them out of his home. The homeowner called the police, who found a "suspicious vehicle" parked outside. Police found all four suspects, none of which were armed.

However, police found an AR-15 they said Shonnell hid in the woods nearby. They said the gun was stolen from a breaking-and-entering case in Cranston.

Torres and the teen are facing charges including felony assault with a firearm, assault with a dangerous weapon, breaking and entering among others. Shonnell's charges include possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, and felony assault. Ziobrowski was charged with conspiracy.
