Coventry Artist To Display Work In Pawtucket
Patricia St. Pierre's hand-crafted jewelry will be available at the Pawtucket Arts Festival this weekend.

Among the many artists who will be displaying and selling their creations at the Pawtucket Arts Festival, which starts this weekend, will be Coventry resident Patricia St. Pierre.
St. Pierre is a jewelry designer who is completing her degree in studio art from Rhode Island College. She specializes in metalsmithing.
“I started dabbling in jewelry as a child,” St. Pierre recalled. “I loved to play with my grandmother’s costume jewelry. All the sparkles and pearls mesmerized me.”

Her fascination with jewelry continued as a teenager.
“As a teen, my mom would give me her broken pieces and I would transform them into earrings and bracelets for friends and family,” said St. Pierre.

She pursued a career in more “practical” fields, but the desire to be an artist was too strong to ignore.
“Later in life I became a florist, then a nurse, but my passion for jewelry and all that sparkles never waned,” explained St. Pierre. “By word of mouth alone, it has slowly grown into a full-fledged business.”
Like snowflakes, no two pieces of jewelry that St. Pierre creates are the same.
“I design each piece with care and attention to detail,” stated the artist. “My mediums are fresh water pearls, semi-precious stones, Lampwork beads (hand blown glass) and crystals, all set in sterling silver or copper. I like to call them ‘unique wearable art.’”
In the upcoming months, St. Pierre will also be a vendor at the Scituate Art Festival, Johnston Apple Festival and her own 8th Annual Holiday Open House in Coventry (12 Highwood Drive). The open house will be on December 3 and 4.
