Trucks Crash, One Carrying Horses, Goats In Coventry: DUI Follows
A veterinarian was called to treat a wound on a horse's head with 10 to 12 stitches.

COVENTRY, RI — A 5-ton military-style truck and a pickup towing a trailer with horses and a goat collided late Saturday night, resulting in DUI charges for a Richmond man and injuries to a juvenile passenger and a horse.
The crash happened near 2232 Plainfield Pike (Route 14) at 11:25 p.m. Saturday. Both vehicles had serious damage and needed towing.
Matthew Wright, 35, the driver of the military-style truck, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and possibly drugs, police said. Police told the Providence Journal Wright refused to take a blood test.

The juvenile passenger who was in the pickup truck was released from the hospital after being treated for minor injuries.
Police said four horses and a goat were inside the trailer when the crash happened. A veterinarian was called to stitch a wound on a horse's head. The wound required 10 to 12 stitches. Another vehicle then took the animals home.

Wright has since been released with a summons to appear in Third District Court in Warwick.
