The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM) is scheduled to host its second event of the 2012 Rhode Island Great Outdoors Pursuit on Sunday, June 10 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kent County YMCA in Warwick.
This event is among five guided Pursuit events scheduled in locations throughout the state this summer. The game takes Rhode Islanders to seven different state parks and forests over a 13-week period.
At the Kent County YMCA, teams will enjoy a performance by the National Double-Dutch Jump Rope Team sponsored by United Healthcare. Participants will have an opportunity to try their hand at archery, learn how to geo cache, cool off in the YMCA pond and spray park, and meet MaxMan, the recycling hero. There will also be a boating safety demonstration, healthy kids cooking demonstration, and other opportunities to explore environmental and nature topics.
