Comix at Foxwoods will play host to NBC’s “Undateable” star Bret Morin for a three-night four-performance stand-up event beginning on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. and ending with his “Nasty Show” on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 10:30 p.m.
Morin was born in South Windsor, Conn. to two inner city high school English teacher parents. When he was 18, Morin moved to Los Angeles to study at a film school at Columbia College. Although he graduated with a film degree, Morin’s heart always had a special place for stand-up. Inspired by his childhood idols Albert Brooks and Wood Allen, Morin gave stand-up a try as a teen, hoping it would segue into eventual opportunities to write, act, and direct.
After graduation Morin landed a gig working as a production assistant with Conan O’Brien on “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien” on NBC and continued with, “Conan” on NBC. From a general office assistant to set production assistant to Andy Richter’s stand in, Morin climbed the ranks through “Conan” to become a regular face and name on the ever popular show. Since then, Morin has appeared regularly at venues including, The Comedy Store, The Improv and Laugh Factory, as well as on tours throughout the United States.

In his network TV debut, Morin co-starred in the Bill Lawrence NBC series, “Undateable,” a multi-camera sitcom with a live audience, which is based on the book, “Undateable: 311 Things Guys Do That Guarantee They Won’t Ne Dating or Having Sex,” by Ellen Rakieten and Anne Coyle. On the show, Morin portrays, “Justin,” the owner of, “Black Eyes Bar” and hopeless romantic roommate of, “Danny” played by Chris D’Elia. What makes. “Undateable” so unique is that it was a cast full of stand-up comics who were good friends before the show aired. The show often incorporates improv, with Morin playing Felix to D’Elia’s grouch Oscar à la “The Odd Couple.”
Aside from, “Undateable,” Morin has been seen as a regular on E!’s, “Chelsea Lately,” “Adam DeVine’s House Party,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “The McCarthy’s” and “Ground Floor.”
