Obituary: Alfred A. Cloutier, 94

Alfred A. Cloutier, 94, formerly of Sherwood Valley, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015.

Alfred A. Cloutier, 94, formerly of Sherwood Valley, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015. He was the husband of the late Lois E. (Woodbine) Cloutier and a son of the late Francis X. and Eva (Forcier) Cloutier.

Alfred, a US Army veteran, was awarded a Bronze Star Medal for his Service in the European Theater during WWII. He worked for the Gorham Manufacturing Company for 28 years before retiring in 1985. While at Gorham, he was the Sports Editor for the Gorham Company Newspaper and he also managed the Golf and Bowling Leagues. He was a past president of the Washington Golf League, where he also achieved a hole-in-one at the Course.

He was the father of Sherry L. LaPointe of Coventry and Joanne Cloutier of West Warwick; grandfather of Tracy LaPointe Webber and her husband Jeremy; great-grandfather of Braedyn and Lois Webber. Alfred was the brother of Theodore Norman Cloutier, Robert Cloutier, Rita Beauchaine, and the late Jerome and Francis Cloutier.

His funeral will be Monday at 9 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte.117) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Joseph Church, West Warwick. Interment with military honors in the RI Veterans Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday 4 -7 pm.
