• Stay Out Of North Coventry's Johnson's Pond: State (patch.com) — Residents in Coventry are being urged to avoid all contact with Johnson's Pond after state health and environmental officials found harmful algae in the water. Swimming, boating, fishing, and even letting pets near the pond are considered high-risk, with potential effects ranging from skin rashes and stomach illness to more serious liver and nervous system problems. Locals are advised not to drink untreated pond water or eat fish caught there until the advisory is lifted.
   

• CHS student named a Commended Student in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program (thechronicle.com) — A Coventry High School student, Chase Weber, has been named a Commended Student in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program, placing among the top 50,000 PSAT takers nationwide. While this doesn't advance him in the scholarship competition, the honor highlights strong academic achievement at Coventry High and may help broaden his future educational opportunities.
