Photography Tips on Photographing your First Wedding

Photographing a wedding can be high stress but also can be a wonderful experience. You are able to capture one of the most important days of someone’s life. Here are a few basic tips before you venture off into shooting your first wedding.
1. Research what is the hot new style for wedding photography. Shooting styles can change every season. Look thru wedding magazines and surf the web looking at images.
2. Write up a Contract. Have an official Letter Of Agreement when you get hired for a job. Make sure you specify the cost, the hours and what they will be receiving.

3. Practice makes perfect. Take out your camera and flash and test before the big day. Make sure you know how to shoot in different lighting situations.Â
4. Know your equipment. Make sure you know all the ins and outs of your equipment. Shooting a wedding is high paced and fast speed. You can’t stop a bride walking down the aisle and say hold up I need to figure out my exposure!

5. Have back up equipment. You must have 2 cameras and 2 strobes and back up cords for everything. If something breaks or stops working you need to quickly be able to pick up and continue shooting.
