JOHNSTON, RI—The teen driver involved in a fiery crash at the Sunoco gas station on Hartford Avenue remains in intensive care at Rhode Island Hospital, State police Capt. John Allen confirmed this morning.

Zachery Albanese, 19, of Johnston, had been reported in critical condition earlier on Thursday, although Rhode Island Hospital did not have any information about a patient by that name, their media relations spokesman said last night.

A Go Fund Me campaign was started yesterday to raise money for Lorenzo's funeral expenses. In the one day, it reached $2,065 of its $3,000 goal.

The fund originator, Geoff Warburton, wrote this about the teen.

"Dylan Laurenzo, who had just turned 18 years old, unexpectedly passed away on December 14, 2016 due to a horrendous car accident the prior day. Dylan was a caring, determined, hysterically funny young man, who leaves behind his father Anthony, mother Michelle, his brother Anthony, 2 sisters Julianna and Alexis, and many more loved family members and friends. We are trying to gather donations to help pay for the funeral and services at such an unexpected tragic time. Anything truley helps and his families appreciate every bit of it. Thank you so much!"

State police are still investigating the cause of the accident.

They were in the intersection at the corner of Bishop Hill Road and Hartford Avenue (Route 6 East) when a Buick driven by Andrea D'Agostino, 87, was attempting to make a left turn onto Bishop Hill Road from Route 6 West, state police said.

According to the State Police preliminary investigation, the Audi and the Buick collided. The impact sent the Audi off the road and through the Sunoco parking lot where it slammed into a Honda parked at a gas pump.

The gas pump exploded in flames, and the Honda, which was unoccupied, was engulfed. The Audi careened across the parking lot and ended up facing west on Route 6 East.

The Fire Department called multiple rescues to the scene of the two-alarm blaze.

Reilly was pronounced dead at Rhode Island Hospital.

D 'Agostino was transported to Miriam Hospital and later released.

Firefighters were on scene at a Sunoco station on Route 6 for several hours after the 4 p.m. accident. The police are asking people who saw anything to contact them at 401-444-1008.
