By Leslie Combemale aka Cinema Siren

OK movie lovers and Sirenauts, you have only two more days to squeeze in all the nominated movies if you want to offer informed and well researched opinions on the winners of the86th annual Academy Awards.ย

The programย airs live on ABC Sundayย at 7 p.m. ET.ย Red carpet coverage begins onย E!ย at 1:30 p.m. ET. See theย full list of Oscar nightย presenters here.

Well it all comes down to this weekend for Hollywood studios, their releases and the actors and actresses who struggle to get to the top of the A list. The Academy Awards show, or the Super Bowl for movie geeks, is happeningย this Sunday, and millions of people around the world will be watching.ย

Iย will be live tweetingย with some movie critic friends and will be joined by movie geeks from around the world. I hope youโ€™ll follow me (@artinsights) and join the party, which you can attend without the stress of sucking yourself into Yves St.ย Laurent, having visible panty lines or constantly checking to see if the $200k necklace from Harry Winstonย has slipped from your neck onto the red carpet.ย ย
ย
TEN THINGS YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT THE 2014 OSCARS:
1. There are 6,028 voters in the Academy who will decide Oscar winners in 2014.
2. More thanย 3,300 get to attend the event, which is the number of seats in the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, where the event has been held these last 12ย years.ย
3. The actual red carpet is more thanย 600 feet long and is laid downย onย Fridayย night.ย
4. Every winner's card is produced four times for each of the categories in the show, but the non-winning cards are destroyed a few days before the Oscars so as to avoid confusion and unauthorized eBay auctions. ย
5. Of the nine Best Picture nominees, sixย are based on real life:ย The Wolf of Wall Street, Dallas Buyers Club, Philomena,ย 12 Years A Slave,ย American Hustle, andย Captain Phillips.ย
6. New sensations and snarky besties Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir will be opining on red carpet fashions forย Access Hollywood.ย ย
7. The producers of the 2014 show, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, served as executive producers for the 2002 Oscar-winning movieChicago.ย  They also worked on TVโ€™sย SMASHย and the recent revival ofย How to Succeed in Business Without Really Tryingย on Broadway, starring Dan Radcliffe.ย
8. A married couple is nominated in different categories, Terence Winter was nominated for Best Original Screenplay (The Wolf of Wall Street) and his wife Rachel Winter, producer,ย for Best PictureDallas Buyers Club. ย
9. John Williams, who is nominated for hisย The Book Thiefย score, has been nominated 49 times,ย  more than any other living person.ย
10. The Oscars will be streaming live on the Internet Sunday night in some markets for the first time.ย The DC area isn't one of them. (For more about that, get the scoop fromย Variety.)

Please watch the show and give us your opinion. Weโ€™d love to hear from you!

Best Picture
*12 Years a Slave
American Hustle
Captain Phillips
Dallas Buyers Club

Best Actor

Christian Bale (American Hustle)
Bruce Dern (Nebraska)
Leonardo DiCaprio (Wolf of Wall Street)
Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave)

*Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine)
Sandra Bullock (Gravity)
