508-DENTIST DONATES $1,920 TO FUND BREAST CANCER RESEARCH
Local dentist office presents check to "Team Becky" of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

SWANSEA, MA - Every week of October, 508-DENTIST bought 100 pink carnations in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and gave them to patients when they came in. For each carnation they handed out, 508-DENTIST donated $10 to The American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer for “Team Becky.” After giving out 192 carnations, 508-DENTIST was proud to present a check worth almost $2,000 to team leader Becky Nero of Coventry, RI.
Dr. Lepine was inspired to support Becky’s team when he heard her story from a good friend. A wife and mother of two children, Becky writes about her experiences while undergoing cancer treatment on her blog, Becky’s Big Bytes. Even as she personally battled breast cancer last year, she has been taking action to increase awareness and raise money for research.
“It means a lot to me and my team that 508-DENTIST would make such a generous donation to breast cancer research. Every bit helps to enhance research efforts and build an understanding of cancer so that we can someday find a cure,” said Nero.

Breast cancer research means a lot to 508-DENTIST’s owner, Dr. Guillaume Lepine, and his family. Dr. Lepine lost his mother to breast cancer. “With all of the new research and findings available, we can prevent these losses and celebrate ‘more birthdays’--another day, month, year, and lifetime with our family, friends, and neighbors. It’s not just in October--all year long, we must continue to support the push for a cure,” said Dr. Lepine.
The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is run by American Cancer Society. Every day, ACS helps save lives by providing early detection screenings, support programs for cancer patients, cancer research, and more. Learn more about Making Strides at www.makingstrideswalk.org.
