All-American Candis Kowalik to Serve as Guest Coach at Dream Big

Kowalik to Coach Throughout the Summer at the Cranston-Based Gym

Warwick’s Candis Kowalik, a nine-time collegiate All-American and three-time Rhode Island Interscholastic All-Around Champion, has joined Dream Big Academy and will serve as a Guest Coach at the Cranston location on Comstock Parkway this summer.

I’m definitely excited to be a part of Dream Big and train young gymnasts this summer,” said Kowalik. “Many of the girls who train at Dream Big watched me practice when they were little girls. Now I can give back to them and help them progress, improve and reach their goals.”

Kowalk, 20, recently completed her junior season at SUNY Brockport where she finished second all-around at the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association Championships. She was twice crowned the NCGA balance beam champion as a freshman and sophomore at Brockport.

Kowalik graduated from Warwick Veterans High School and competed with the Warwick Dance and Gymnastics Academy. She was a Level 8, 9 and 10 Regional Qualifier, a Level 10 NIT and Nationals Qualifier, a Level Nine State Champion and a Level 10 second place State Champion. A three-time high school State Champion at Warwick Vets, Kowalik placed second and third place in the New England Championships and a two-time New England Vault Champion.

Kowalik will also do her own training at Dream Big this summer as she prepares for her final season at SUNY Brockport.

“I’m looking for individual goals. Being a senior and having a role as a leader, focusing on the team and improving as a team is the most important for me,” said Kowalik. “We finished third this past season. We can definitely improve upon that this year.”
