Chain Reaction Crash Causes Major Backups During Evening Commute
Rhode Island State police say four cars were involved in the chain-reaction crash, but no major injuries were reported.
CRANSTON, RI — Four vehicles were involved in a chain reaction crash Tuesday afternoon, causing major backup along Interstate 95 North at the Cranston/Warwick line. The crash happened near Route 10 just after 4 p.m., closing several lanes and backing up traffic for miles.
According to Rhode Island State Police, two cars had slowed down with traffic when a third coming up behind failed to stop in time, causing a crash with both that also damaged a fourth vehicle.
Several people were transported to the hospital with what police said were minor injuries.
