Cheese Recall Expanded In Rhode Island For More Potential Listeria
Old Europe baked brie cheeses with best-by dates through Dec. 14, 2022 were added to the recalled product list.

RHODE ISLAND โ Old Europe Cheese Inc. has expanded its recall to more products, specifically baked Brie cheeses, the Rhode Island Department of Health said Thursday.
The expanded recall, like the initial reported earlier this week, is because of potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, state health officials said.
Old Europe baked brie products with best-by dates through Dec. 14, 2022 were added to the recalled product list. All recalled products were distributed from Aug. 1 through Sept. 28 and were sold at supermarkets, wholesale, and retail stores nationwide, including in Rhode Island.

Anyone who has these products should throw them away or return them to the store they were bought at. The recall has been linked to several illnesses nationwide, state health officials said.
Eating food contaminated with Listeria can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, people with weakened immune systems, pregnant women and their newborns.
