Cheese Sold at Whole Foods Recalled for Possible Listeria

People are being advised not to eat cheese distributed by Karoun Daries.

Cheese produced by Karoun Dairies and sold at the Whole Foods in Cranston were pulled from shelves as part of a voluntary recall for possible listeria contamination.

The Rhode Island Department of Health said that just four of the affected cheeses were sold at Whole Foods: They were Queso del Valle Queso Fresco, Queso del Valle Cotija, Queso del Valle Queso Blanco, and Gopi Paneer. The products are vacuum packed, in jars or in pails.

Although only these four were commercially available in Rhode Island, Rhode Islanders should still avoid all the other cheese products listed in the Food and Drug Administration’s advisory.
