Cranston Artist Gives Insider's View of Indian Video at CCRI

Ambuja Magaji, an Indian artist living in Cranson, selected films from a dozen Indian video artists for a new exhibition at the Community College of Rhode Island's gallery in Warwick.

A new exhibition offering a perspective of contemporary Indian video opened yesterday at the Community College of Rhode Island's Knight Campus in Warwick.

The exhibition, entitled "Video Art from India," was assembled by Cranston resident and Indian artist Ambuja Magaji.

According to a release, the videos, by a dozen Indian filmmakers, will "illustrate the artists’ diverse backgrounds and shared interest in the tensions between traditional and contemporary worlds, gender issues and the use of public space."
