Cranston Officer Hurt: Crash At Woodbine & Park Friday Morning

Multiple news sources are reporting a crash at Park Avenue and Woodbine Street occurred around 2 a.m. Friday.

CRANSTON, RI — Multiple news sources are reporting a crash at Park Avenue and Woodbine Street occurred around 12:20 a.m. Friday. Cranston police said Friday an officer was hurt. He was treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital.

According to Maj. Todd Patalano, a Cranston police officer was "on routine patrol travelling east on Park Avenue approaching Woodbine Street. As the officer approached the intersection, a 2007 Lexus sedan travelling south on Woodbine Street failed to stop and darted out into the roadway crossing Park Avenue where the Cranston Police Officer had no opportunity to react or stop, causing the cruiser to strike the passenger side of the Lexus who failed to yield."

Derrick In, 23 of Fall River, Massachusetts, was charged with Driving After Suspension-2nd Offense. He was also cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Evidence of Insurance and Obedience to Stop Sign.
