Cranston Girls get a New Basketball League of their Own

The Cranston Youth Girls Basketball Association is a brand new league and is signing up players now.

Cranston girls who love to play basketball take note: there’s a new league in town.

The Cranston Youth Girls Basketball Association, or CYGBA, is a brand new basketball league created for the girls of Cranston.

“The league is being created to encourage girls of different age groups and skill sets to play basketball on their own terms, with their own goals who will, hopefully, develop a love of basketball,” said League Director, P.J. Thibodeau.

The league will focus on is skill development and teaching and offer three levels of basketball play: Clinic, Recreational and Travel

The CYGBA has already begun receiving online registrations and tryouts (by appointment once registered) will take place at the Peter Pastore Youth Center on September 26th, plus October 3rd, 10th + 17th from 9am until 12pm. Walk in registrations are also welcomed at those times and on September 19th from 9am until 12pm.
